The Ober Gatlinburg has a lot of fun to offer, no matter what season it is. Located far above the exciting tourist town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, this mountain top resort offers beautiful scenery, fun, and excitement. When it comes to winter skiing fun, Gatlinburg is a great place to go. Ober Gatlinburg has eight trails for snowboarding and skiing, and you don’t even have to bring your own equipment. They have rental options in all kinds of sizes that will let anyone participate. There are two quad chairlifts and one double chairlift so you don’t have to stand in line for too long. The slopes are carefully maintained to make sure they’re in top skiing condition, too.
We checked out the Smoky Mountain Wildlife Encounter, too. It let us get a good look at a lot of native wildlife without encountering them the hard way. There are black bears, river otters (and a special underwater viewing location that lets you see them play) skunks, turtles, snakes, flying squirrels and raccoons. They’re planning to add more animals in the near future, too - including foxes and bobcats. There’s a nocturnal house that will let you see the animals that are usually only active in the dark, so you won’t miss out.
The tramway runs from 9:30 in the morning to 7:20 on weekdays, and from 9:30 to 8:20 on Saturdays. It closes a little early on Sundays. You should also remember that you can’t buy tickets for events later than fifteen minutes before closing, so time things accordingly.
