Gatlinburg Sky Lift has been an attraction in the area now for almost 60 years. We travel to Gatlinburg at least once a year and have always take the ride. It seems to be a tradition for many people who love to vacation here. It's a good 10 minute ride or so up to the top. It's peaceful and it's nice to just take a break and relax from all the hustle and bustle of the area attractions. A visit in the fall is wonderful, since you could see the colors of the leaves change. The photo they take of every rider taken at the top was a lot better quality than we expected. We thought we were going to get something like the kind of photo you usually get at an amusement park, but this one was large and attractive. You can get it on anything from a keychain to a full sized 8x10, and they print the items for you on site. In addition, they told us that they save the images, so we could come back later that week and buy things if we decided we wanted more photo souvenirs before we left town. The Gatlinburg Sky Lift is a great choice for anyone who really wants to see the sights from above, or just wants a nice way to relax. We loved the long, leisurely trip up and the view of the mountains and the town below. The Gatlinburg Sky Lift is open every day, all year round, between 9 am and 10 pm April to October, and nine am to five pm November to March. Basically, you can ride as long as there’s daylight, and after dark some days.
